After planting 300 longleaf pines, with the knowledge that I won’t live to see them reach maturity, I imagined a future where a forest creature emerges from the earth to check on their growth a century later. This illustration captures that moment, envisioning what the world might look like when the pines stand tall. It is a reflection on time, legacy, and the quiet hope that nature continues to thrive long after we’re gone.
